No, DELSU is no longer writing post UTME exams as this had made things easier for student travelling from long distance to write the exam for a day and travel back the next day. For the 2025/2026 academic session, DELSU devised a new admission system for student to gain admission into the department of Fisheries.
DELSU has completely changed their admission process for the 2025/2026 academic session. Instead of using your JAMB score + POST UTME aggregate to give you admission, your admission would be based on your JAMB score + O’ Level grades.

How to Calculate Your DELSU Aggregate
DELSU has introduced a new admission system for the 2025/2026 academic session which comprises of your JAMB score (70%) and WAEC/NECO (30%).
This means no more Post UTME examinations, saving you the burden of traveling to Delta State, specifically Abraka, to write the exams.
Step 1 – Calculate Your JAMB Component
Note: Your JAMB score covers 70% of your admission and the WAEC/NECO 30%.
Your JAMB score contributes 70% to your total aggregate using this formula: (Your JAMB Score ÷ 400) × 70.
To calculate this, divide your JAMB score by 400, then multiply the result by 70. For example, if you scored 220 in JAMB: 220 ÷ 400 = 0.55, then 0.55 × 70 = 38.5. Your JAMB aggregate is 38.5 out of 70 possible points.
| JAMB Score | Aggregate Points |
| 400 | 70.00 |
| 350 | 61.25 |
| 300 | 52.50 |
| 250 | 43.75 |
| 200 | 35.00 |
Step 2 – Calculate Your O’Level Component
Your O’Level results contribute 30% to your aggregate based on a points system for grade
WAEC/NECO/GCE Points Breakdown
| Grade | Points |
| A1 | 6 |
| B2 | 5 |
| B3 | 4 |
| C4 | 3 |
| C5 | 2 |
| C6 | 1 |
The calculation includes five topics: your four core JAMB subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English), as well as one additional applicable subject such as Geography or Economics. Simply add the points for these five subjects to acquire your O’Level component, which has a maximum of 30 points.

Student Profile: JAMB Score: 220, O’Level Results: B2, B2, B3, C4, C5.
JAMB Calculation: 220 ÷ 400 = 0.55, then 0.55 × 70 = 38.5 points.
O’Level Calculation: B2 (5) + B2 (5) + B3 (4) + C4 (3) + C5 (2) = 19 points.
Final Aggregate: 38.5 + 19 = 57.5 out of 100
